Former Celtic forward Kris Commons insists he is determined to get back playing football after undergoing an operation to mend a back problem that has plagued him for a year.
The 33-year-old posted a picture of himself lying on a hospital bed yesterday and said he still has the hunger to pull on the boots after ending his memorable six-and-a-half year spell with the Hoops earlier this summer.
The five-time Scottish top-flight winner’s only five appearances last season came during a month-long stint loan stint at Neil Lennon’s Hibs between December and January.
And after having had surgery on his back, the former Scotland internationalist is hoping to make a pain-free return to action.
Commons said: “Finally got this back sorted. Twelve months of pain hell and too many lows to talk about.
“Hoping to be back on the park ASAP, who with????? Even I don’t know but I’m so hungry to get back to what I’m best at. (Football) and tap ins.”
