A SCOTSMAN famed for doing yoga in his kilt is to release a book filled with stunning photos of Scotland’s natural landscape.
Finlay Wilson, 30, shot to fame earlier in the year after releasing a series of videos depicting him and his friend Tristan Cameron-Harper doing yoga in nothing but their kilts in a Perthshire forest.
The viral video of the ‘Kilted Yoga Star’ currently has over 54 million views, and Finlay, who founded Dundee’s Heart Space Yoga and Body Works, continues to find inspiration in Scotland’s scenery.
Kilted Yoga: Yoga Laid Bare is already available for pre-order for £9.99 on Amazon, and will be out on October 19 this year.
The book will show a variety of yoga sequences, set to the stunning back drop of incredible Scottish locations.
From the stunning waterfalls near Etive Mòr in the Highlands to the beautiful Arbroath cliffs in Angus – there will be plenty to inspire meditation and mindfulness.
The stunning shots show Finlay stretching out in front of a rock pool and small waterfall, as he balances gracefully on rocks with his arms raised to the sky.
The front cover of the book shows Finlay, again in nothing but his kilt, with his arms outstretched as he poses with iconic Scottish scenery of deep blue water and mountains behind him.
Speaking to a local paper, Finlay said: “When I was initially approached by the publishing company, I tried to think of the best way to put it together.
“I decided to produce something which explains yoga from a beginners perspective and shows introductory sequences that build up in levels.
“It just seems like the logical path as I have had hundreds of people get in touch asking how they get into yoga.
“There are some really amazing images from right across Scotland.”
Shooting pictures for the book wasn’t all plain sailing, as Finlay explains, the Scottish countryside is not always a forgiving place.
He said: “It was great fun during the shoots – although there were lots of midges which at times made it difficult.
“One one of the shoots in Glencoe, there were a few tourists watching us then all of a sudden a bus load turned up.
“It was hilarious but I am used to it now so it didn’t really faze me.”
Finlay announced his book being available to pre-order, and was met with an ecstatic response from fans.
David Thompson wrote: “I can’t wait!”.
While Norma Irizarry added: “Can’t wait! So excited for you Finlay!”
Pamela Flowers believes Finlay could branch out even further. She wrote: “Are you doing a calendar? I’m sure it would sell!”
