New Motherwell defender Cedric Kipre admits he is determined to make a make for himself at Fir Park after coming through the ranks at Leicester City and Paris Saint Germain.

The 20-year-old has signed a one-year contract with Stephen Robinson’s side after impressing in the pre-season outings against Stirling Albion and Livingston.

The Frenchman was released by the Foxes earlier this summer and is keen to kick-start his career with the Steelmen.

He said: “I’ve played for Leicester and PSG as well, now I’m at Motherwell and I’m really happy to be here and I can’t wait to get the season started.

“I am excited to work with the manager, I spoke wth him a lot and I like the way he works.

“I think he trusts me, which is a good thing, and from what I’ve seen he looks like a very good manager.

“I’ve been in for a couple of weeks now so I’ve had a chance to see everything, see the facilities and everything so yes, I’m very happy.

“I’ve met everyone too and everyone is really nice. We got to know each other better when we went away to Ireland.”

Motherwell manager Robinson, who has also been running the rule of striker Shaun Tuton and defender Bira Dembele, added: “He’s only 20-years old but his development is staggering, he is incredibly strong and will complement the boys we’ve got at the back already.

“I very much look forward to working with Cédric this season. I’m also looking to bring in one more defender and another striker before the window shuts but I will have to ensure there are some outgoings first.”
