PARTICK THISTLE will ‘have’ to consider any offers for Liam Lindsay this summer, according to managing director Ian Maxwell.

Lindsay has previously been linked with interest from Charlton Athletic and Bolton Wanderers, and has been backed for a possible future Scotland call-up, following an impressive campaign.

Jags boss Alan Archibald reckons the 21-year-old centre-half, who is under contract until 2019, would benefit from spending another season at Firhill.

However, Maxwell has confessed that Thistle are not the kind of club who can slap a ‘not for sale’ sign on their prize asset.

He said: “It’s very much where we are in the football food chain, if you like.

“There’s always going to be people looking at clubs like Partick Thistle.

“If you look at Liam, for example, he’s done really, really well this season. He’s improved.

“If somebody is going to come and make us an offer for Liam then we have to consider it, we’re not the kind of club that can’t.

“But it’s about making the most of the finances that come into the club and what we do with that and how it affects our recruitment going forward.”

Maxwell added to Jagzone: “You want to see continuity, in terms of players coming in who are always attracting interest and moving on.

“That has to be the business model for clubs of our size.”
