Falkirk Stadium set for a sell-out as Bairns do battle with Dundee United

FALKIRK are set to host their first sell-out since last season’s dramatic playoff win against Hibernian when Dundee United visit the Westfield.

At close of business on Thursday, fewer than 300 tickets remained and Bairns chiefs fully expect those to be snapped up by home fans prior to kick-off.

Dundee United have also sold their entire allocation of more than 1900 briefs, with the visitors from Tayside filling the entirety of the North Stand at the Falkirk Stadium.

The attendance is likely to be upwards of 7,500 as the sides – who are delicately balanced at 2-2 after the first leg at Tannadice – battle for a place in the Premiership playoff final against either Hamilton or Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

It will be the biggest crowd at the Falkirk Stadium since 7,851 spectators crammed into the ground for their breathless encounter against Hibs last season, when a last minute Bob McHugh strike secured a 5-4 aggregate win for the Bairns.
