Nightclub responds to scathing review

A NIGHTCLUB has gone viral after responding to a disgruntled customer review – by calling them a “jakey gormless moron”.

FLY Club replied to the one-star review from Sevgi Cavusoglu who claimed she would never return to the place after she “hated it”.

The nightclub in Edinburgh’s city centre said they would “cherish the review until the day they die” before sharing it on social media last week.

Posting on the clubs Facebook page, the unhappy customer wrote: “S**t music, rude staff!! Hated it. Never going back.”

The clubbing venue, in the city’s Cowgate area specialises in house, techno, hip hop, garage and grime music decided to challenge the former patrons remarks.

Commenting on Sevgi’s post, the club started off by pointing out the type of music they play.

They said said: “Hi Sevgi,

“We gave you a refund as you didn’t like the music.

“Fair enough, if underground house and disco is not your bag – perhaps research where you are going next time?

“We don’t play Justin Bieber.”

The club continued their responses, highlighting the prices of the drinks and making claims about Sevgi and her friends.

The response continued: “You complained about the drink prices – claiming you wanted two drinks for a fiver… the drinks are £2.50 – 2 x £2.50 = £5.

“You and your pals however were extremely intense, surrounding me and also the cash desk girls proclaiming ‘how shit this place is and how you’ve been absolutely done over….'”

However the club saved the most brutal response until the last.

It concluded: “Anyway I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for this 1* review.

“I will cherish it until the day I die.

“You are the exact type of jakey gormless moron that I don’t want in the club so the fact that you are never returning is music to my ears.

“Bye”

The post, which was shared early last week, has now gone viral, having been liked by over 2000 Facebook users.

However, whilst some people supported the clubs response, others have criticised it, saying they should have handled it better.

Brian Bomber Harris wrote: “You get bad customers and complainers and should deal with them in a more sophisticated manner instead of getting all defensive and insulting.

“That comment only deserved to be ignored, why drop your own standards to almost become what you’re upset by.”

Simone Hepburn said: “A response like that from the club is appalling, immature and unprofessional.”

Grry Mlly commented: “This is the kind of response I want to give some people”

Jonathan Jackson said: “Canny handle the underground scene”
