MP Mhairi Black filmed belting out Scots anthem in Paisley bar

VIDEO footage has captured Britain’s youngest MP belting out a Scottish anthem on pub karaoke.

22-year-old SNP MP Mhairi Black was filmed singing her heart out in a bar packed with her local constituents.

The MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire South sung the Dougie MacLean classic ‘Caledonia’ and played guitar in the Burger and Keg bar in Paisley, Renfrewshire.

The four and a half minute clip was uploaded to YouTube last Friday with the title: “Mhairi Black – Caledonia” and has already had nearly 4,500 views.

The video starts as someone in the crowd shouts: “Mhairi Black,” before the crowd start to cheer.

The young MP then launches into her own version of ‘Caledonia’ as she plays her own guitar and sings into the microphone.

The crowd join in with the famous lyrics before a female in the crowd joins her at the mic halfway through the performance to sing along.

The performance ends to loud cheers and applause from the appreciative crowd before a smiling Ms Black takes her guitar off and shakes hands with what appears to be the compere.

YouTube users have been quick to react to her karaoke performance.

Shona Davidson wrote: “A fun time.”

Whilst Adeenreds added: “Class.”

Ms Black has been the MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire South since 2015 after he defeated Labour candidate Douglas Alexander.

She is the current ‘Baby of the House’ as the youngest member of the House of Commons.

She was elected at just 20 years old in May 2015 which made her the youngest elected MP since James Dickson who was just 21 when he was elected in 1880.

Ms Black hit the headlines recently for appearing to tell a government minister in the Commons: “You’re talking s***e, hen.”
