Part 2: Hibs boss Neil Lennon fumes over clash with Morton manager Jim Duffy and reveals Jordon Forster injury

HIBS boss Neil Lennon has revealed he has not spoken with Morton manager Jim Duffy since Wednesday night’s skirmish and insists he has no intentions of doing so.

Irked by a lack of concern for Jordon Forster, who was fouled by Kudus Oyenuga in what Lennon claims was a potentially ‘career-ending’ challenge, the Hibs boss says his defender will be sidelined for up to a month with a shoulder injury sustained in the incident.

He will, though, have Darren McGregor available for Saturday’s trip to Dunfermline after confirming the club have appealed the stand-in captain’s red card from Wednesday after Oyenuga claimed to have been headbutted in the scuffle.

Lennon, who says he has the club hierarchy fully behind him, will also be in the dugout at East End Park as he awaits the actions of the SFA compliance officer and he was in no mood to play down the incident.

The Northern Irishman believes it bears no comparison with the spat he had with Rangers counterpart McCoist during the Old Firm match that sparked a Scottish Government summit in 2011.

Asked if he had spoken to Duffy, with the teams set to face each other in a potentially poisonous clash next Saturday, he added: “No and I have no intention of it either, none whatsoever. Why should I?

“He’s coming at me for a fight, while I’m trying to do my job

“It was 20 times worse than me and Ally. That was a verbal spat.

VENOM

“That was bad on Wednesday night. The venom, the intent, the aggression was bad.

“I’m angry with what’s been said afterwards, as if it was light and it’s played down and it’s handbags and it’s emotion and passion and all that crap.

“Sorry, I’m not having it. I don’t agree with the Morton manager at all on the situation.

“He played it down because he knows he’s in the wrong.

“I’m not letting him get away with that. I had time for him, or I did have time for him, but not any more.

“Do I have any regrets? None, whatsoever. Regret about what?

“Tell me, what should I regret. I’m not embarrassed, nothing whatsoever. I’ve got nothing to be regretful about at all.”
