LUKE LEAHY has revealed there will be a Falkirk contingent at Easter Road tonight backing the Bairns.
Luca Gasparotto, who is in line to win his first ever senior Canada cap, and Fraser Aird have been named in the Canuck’s squad for the friendly against Scotland.
While there will be little support for the visitors among a spartan crowd in Leith, Leahy will be roaring on his club teammates on show.
He reckons that underpins the camaraderie which has been key to their promotion push this season.
Leahy said: “It reflects really well on Falkirk and it is great for the players themselves, because they are just young lads so it is terrific to get that recognition.
“I think the majority of the squad is going to try and get along to Easter Road for the match. They are brilliant lads, and have worked really hard to get their call-ups, so any support we can give them, we all want to do that.
“Fraser has won a few caps already but Luca could make his debut, which would be a great moment for him. We’ve got a close dressing room and we’ll be happy to be there cheering them on.”
The English defender smiled: “I’m not sure about the Scottish boys in the team, but I’ll definitely be supporting Canada.”
Tonight will be the first of two visits to Easter Road for Leahy and co. in the space of four days, with the Bairns set to face Championship leaders Hibs on Saturday.
And the in-form left-back has joked that the Falkirk squad will need to watch their backs while in enemy territory.
He smiled: “It might be best if we keep our heads down! Hopefully it is the first of a couple of enjoyable visits to Easter Road in the next few days.”
