Neil Lennon insists he is fed up of sounding like broken record after criticising his players following the draw with Dumbarton

Hibs head coach Neil Lennon insists his players only have themselves to blame after being held to a 2-2 draw at home to Dumbarton.

The Leith side were punished for a lacklustre first half performance when former Hearts striker Christian Nade scored a penalty in the 37th minute.

Sons defender Daniel Harvie netted an own goal in the 57th minute but the visitors retook the lead five minutes later through Robert Thomson.

Hibs striker James Keatings then had a penalty saved by Alan Martin but the Dumbarton goalkeeper was at fault for the equaliser in the 83rd minute when Martin Boyle rescued a point for the Championship leaders, who have extended their lead to seven points.

Lennon was less then impressed with his players’ attitude.

He said: “We’ve only ourselves to blame for dropping points. I was really pleased with the second half performance but I was really frustrated with the first half performance – it’s not acceptable.

“It’s nothing I am doing, managers take responsibility a lot but it was nothing to do with tactics.

“We were pedestrian, clumsy, sloppy, all the things we gave them warnings about before the game and they just go out and do it.

“I’m sick of them doing this and I am sick of us dropping points at home for not approaching games the right way.

“I feel it’s not me you should be asking, you should be asking the players because I sound like a broken down record. We gave them all the warnings how to approach it.

“Then we go at 30 per cent, I’m not even sure if they had a sweat on at half time, but they certainly did after I finished with them.

“We play Falkirk and Morton in the next two games and we can make life a lot easier for ourselves by winning those.”
