CANADA have named Ecuadorian coach Octavio Zambrano as their new manager ahead of next week’s friendly clash against Scotland.
The former LA Galaxy boss was yesterday confirmed as Benito Flores’ replacement at the helm of the Canucks, with caretaker Mike Findlay – who will select the squad for the encounter in Edinburgh – becoming his assistant.
Zambrano will travel to Scotland for a watching brief at Easter Road, however he will officially assume coaching duties at the upcoming U-23 tournament, where Canada will face Uzbekistan and Qatar.
Canada’s roster for the encounter against Scotland will be confirmed on Saturday morning, with Falkirk duo Fraser Aird and Luca Gasparotto and ex-Scotland under-21 star Scott Arfield set to be among those included.
