FORMER Scotland and Celtic star Paul Caddis has become Lee Clarkâs first signing for Bury.
The 28-year-old has been a free agent since leaving Birmingham City in January, having made just one appearance this season, and recently saw a deal with Blackburn collapse.
However, he has now penned a deal with the Gigg Lane side until the end of the season and he admits the draw of working with ex-Kilmarnock boss Clark and his assistant Alan Thompson was key.
Caddis told Bury’s official website: âI know the gaffer well, and he knows me from our time at Birmingham. I was a young lad at Celtic when Thommo [Alan Thompson] was there too, so that makes a difference when you come to a new club.â
Having established himself as a Swindon Town favourite following his departure from Celtic in 2010, Caddis went on to join Birmingham three years later and was regular for five seasons, making 159 appearances.
He is guaranteed a place in St Andrews folklore after scoring the last minute goal against Bolton in 2014 that kept Clarkâs Blues in the Championship.
