Malaysian peanut butter brand cracks up Scots on social media

A BRAND of peanut butter is causing hilarity among Scots on social media – because it’s called Jobbie.

The product is made in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur and gets its name from creators Joseph Goh and Debbie Ching.

The pair combined their first names to come up with “crunchy” and “creamy” Jobbie Homemade Nut Butter.

But the spread has gone viral being shared on a Facebook page dedicated to Scottish “banter”.

A BRAND of peanut butter is causing hilarity among Scots on social media – because it’s called Jobbie.

The makers of the spread insist on their own social media pages that “Jobbie makes every morning better. #goodmorning”.

They add: “Jobbie is all natural, without any preservatives added, and made with love to satisfy your taste bud.”

Another post said: “Smooth and creamy peanut butter with extra crispy peanut chunks! Slide through your throat perfectly, smooth and finely grinded peanut butter.”

But after the page was shared on social media, Scots couldn’t help wading in with their own, less wholesome, comments.

Roy Cook wrote: “With extra sweet corn”

Ross Peebles commented: “Anyone for a wee spread a jobbie on their piece”

And James Michie wrote: “Spread this on yer toast lol”

A spokesman for the Jobbie Peanut Butter said: “The name Jobbie came from the names of our founders name, Joseph & Debbie.

“We do live in Malaysia and there a lot of ambiguous language all around the world, and we don’t necessarily need to follow the standards of Scotland, do we.

“We do enjoy the sense of humor in it too.

“If it is funny then it means we made someone’s day a tad bit brighter, so why not? Maybe poo is good thing.”

The homemade peanut butter is on sale for 22 Malaysian Ringgits or £3.96.
