Celtic defender Efe Ambrose is still waiting to discover whether he will be granted a work permit that he needs to complete his loan move to Blackburn Rovers.
The two clubs agreed the transfer of the Nigerian internationalist at the end of January and Blackburn have already presented their case on why they believe the 28-year-old’s proposed switch should be rubber stamped.
Ambrose watched the February 1 defeat to Leeds United from the stands and Rovers manager Owen Coyle is keeping his fingers crossed that the player will be able to join up with his squad.
Coyle said: “That’s an issue regarding the work permit.
“For me, it’s one or two things – you’re either eligible or you’re not.
“We had a conversation with Celtic and we were led to believe from them that everything should be ok.
“Going from one governing body, the SFA, to the FA, there’s different criteria for work permits in different countries.”
