Hearts defender John Souttar is beginning the long road back to fitness after revealing that yesterday’s operation to mend a ruptured Achilles tendon was a success.
The former Dundee United centre-half posted a picture of himself lying on his hospital bed on social media with the message: “Just out surgery, thanks for all the messages.
“Operation went well so delighted. Always smile.”
Souttar sustained the injury during the dying stages of the January 29 defeat at Celtic but is targeting a pre-season return following initial fears that he could have been sidelined for up to a year.
