Magical moment unborn baby, 16 weeks, waves and plays peek-a-boo with parents

A MAGICAL video shows an unborn baby at 16 weeks “waving” to its parents and playing peek-a-boo.

The amazingly clear 4D scan shows the baby inside the womb raising her left hand and shaking it in a waving motion.

The baby – due on July 9 – also puts both hands to her eyes and pulls them away just like a game of peek-a-boo.

Her ecstatic parents, Cheryl and Johnny Dearie from Baillieston, Glasgow were blown away by the scan which was taken on Monday afternoon.

The couple who already have two sons, Liam, eight, and John Paul, three, were also lucky enough to capture the perfectly timed movements while surrounded by family.

Speaking today Cheryl, 30, said: “The whole thing was just amazing, she was playing peek-a-boo throughout the video too, putting her hands over her eyes and pulling them over her eyes.

“This is my third child and I didn’t have anything like this with the first and with my second son, the scan wasn’t until 32 weeks so the baby’s bigger and it’s not as clear so this was a totally different experience.

“I took my eldest with me, who is eight and he absolutely loved it. My mum, sister and partner were also there too so it was really special to have the family there and being able to experience that with everyone.

“It was a bit of a shock that it was a girl too as I’ve got two boys and was expecting the third to be the same so to find out the sex and have that amazing video with everyone there was just perfect.

“While the scan was happening, she was wriggling around and I could feel her tugging about inside me, it was just brilliant.

“She’s got lots of space in there at the moment and is really active. It’s incredible, you can see all the fine details like her wee nose and lips.

“The lady doing the scan said herself that was one of the most amazing scans she had seen, she said this is so amazing’.

“First she was making fists as if she was boxing, then playing peek-a-boo and then the waving. It’s just something I can cherish forever and when my little girl is older we can watch it back and say ‘this is you’.”

The scan was done at specialist scanning clinic bumptobaby in Glasgow. The “4D” scan shows a moving 3D image in real time.
