HIBERNIAN have completed the signing of former Hearts and Rangers goalkeeper Scott Gallacher.
The 27-year-old has signed a deal until the end of the season after leaving Championship strugglers St Mirren.
Gallacher’s arrival eases the Hibees’ goalkeeping crisis, after first-choice stopper Ofir Marciano suffered bruised ribs during last weekend’s 8-1 win over Bonnyrigg Rose.
While the Israeli internationalist’s injury is not as bad as first feared, the Easter Road outfit were keen to secure reinforcements, with Ross Laidlaw – who will start in Dumfries tomorrow – their only other fit senior keeper.
Lennon said: “We are a goalie down at the minute. We are hoping that Ofir [Marciano] will be fit for the weekend, but Scott will be here until the end of the season as cover, as the third goalkeeper.”
Gallacher came through the youth ranks with Rangers, but played just five times for the Ibrox outfit and was farmed out on loan to Cowdenbeath, Forfar and Airdrie.
He joined Hibs’ fierce city rivals, Hearts, in 2014 but again failed to cement a first-team berth, acting as deputy to Neil Alexander.
Gallacher was number one at Alloa during the second half of last season, before making the switch to St Mirren last summer. However, he had fallen out of the Buddies picture under Jack Ross prior to his release.
