LIVINGSTON have bolstered their title charge by snapping up Hearts prospect Nikolay Todorov on loan for the rest of the season.
The 20-year-old spent the first half of the campaign with League Two strugglers Cowdenbeath, scoring five goals in 22 appearances for the Blue Brazil.
However, the Hearts hierarchy are keen to see the powerful Bulgarian test himself at a higher level and he will spend the remainder of this term at Almondvale.
David Hopkin’s side lead League One by nine points ahead of Alloa Athletic, and are already the most prolific scorers in the division, but they are hopeful Todorov will add a physical dimension to their attack.
Todorov – who becomes Livingston’s fourth arrival in January following the captures of Keaghan Jacobs, Declan Gallagher and Mark Millar – also provides versatility, having been utilised by Cowden in defence on occasion.
