Tennent’s Home Alone Xmas spoof gets three views a second

TENNENT’S have released yet another hilarious Christmas video – with the help of cult classic Home Alone.

The short clip plays homage to the nineties film by mocking up the famous scene where Kevin McAllister’s mum realise she’s left her eight-year-old at home on his own.

But instead of exclaiming “Kevin!” the mum apparently screams “Tennents!”.

The clip got 10,000 views in the first hour after it was released today (Thu) on Facebook – the equivalent of almost three a second.

Using the scene from the Christmas comedy, Kevin’s mum Kate is shown sitting on a plane trying to figure out what’s she’s left behind.

She then turns to her husband Peter, played by actor John Heard, saying: “I have a terrible feeling…that we didn’t do something. Did I turn off the coffee?

Realisation suddenly hits the frantic mum when he asks “What else can we be forgetting?”as she flies forward in her seat just as the plane begins to take off.

But instead of shouting “Kevin” like in the original movie, the Scottish alcohol giants have added a voice over shouting “Tennent’s!”.

The flight is then shown jetting off as the Tennent’s sign and pint of lager appear on screen alongside the words “Don’t forget” across the screen.

Kevin’s mum then makes one last appearance as she’s shown shaking her head in disbelief, saying: “How could we do this?”

The video, titled “The one thing you REALLY don’t want to forget this Christmas. Wait for it…”, was viewed more than 7,000 times in less than an hour.

Dozens of fans have already taken to the post to tag their friends in on the clip.

Ross Harris said: “Tennent’s winning christmas adverts this year. This is amazing.”

And Euan Buchan wrote: “Brilliant.”

However some viewers used the post to share their distaste of the drink.

Craig Thompson said: “I’d rather forget it, its rubbish, would make a good toilet cleaner though.”

Not leaving the comment at that, Tennent’s immediately responded: “That’s the spirit!”, along with a Santa emoji.

The video joins a long list of hilarious videos created by the Glasgow based brewers including their 2016 Christmas advert mocking retailers John Lewis.

Their short clip played homage to “Hurricane Bawbag” which hit the country in 2011 – replacing scenes of a bouncing Buster the Dog with a windswept trampoline.
