A PRANKSTER has gone viral after running into a supermarket and booting their Christmas tree into the air.
The clip shows a youngster kicking the tree in a Sainsbury’s store with enough force to break it in two and send baubles flying.
The stunt, thought to have been filmed in Dalkeith, Midlothian, has generated more than 2,500 likes and retweets since it was posted on social media.
The film opens with the yob looking slightly apprehensive and shifty while his friends egg him on.
The cameraman can be heard saying “go for it, go for it” before the man, thought to be in his early 20s, plucks up the courage to make his way into the shop.
Slowly tiptoeing inside, he approaches a six foot, decorated, Christmas tree before taking a swipe at it with his right foot.
The tree is shown breaking into two pieces as its launched in the air, while scattered decorations crashing into the floor can be heard in the background.
The giggling vandal is then captured quickly running out of the shop and round the corner as his friends crease themselves with laughter.
One boy, thought to be the culprit, wrote: “That’s a Merry Christmas. Some tackle.”
Another user said: “I’m in f****** stitches.”
However, one viewer wrote: “I didn’t find it funny at all.”
Another branded the prankster a “helmet”.
