A SCOTS gran has been inundated with orders for her amazing knitted Still Game characters.

Mary Howard made hundreds of sales within 24 hours of taking to social media with the wool lookalikes of Jack, Victor, Isa and other well-loved characters.

Mary, originally from Glasgow, but currently living in Tarragona, Spain, even makes a pocket-sized version of foul-mouthed grocer Navid – including his grey straggly hair and beard – and Winston along with his thick rimmed glasses.

Also on offer is a knitted Rab C Nesbitt, complete with string vest, a bottle of Buckfast and a “blood” stained head bandage, and a “Mary Doll”.

The dolls are available in four size ranges with prices starting at £7 and rising up to £27 for an extra large character.

Mary plans to ship the dolls to Glasgow where her granddaughter Julie Workman will sort out orders.

Orders started flying in last night after Julie shared images of the dolls on one of Still Games Facebook pages.

Since then, over 300 users have commented on the photographs with more than a hundred making orders.

She said: “The dolls will be up for sale very soon but obviously as I’m sure you will appreciate it’s only one woman making them so it’s impossible to put a time on them.

“My gran lives in Spain but this lot is getting posted to me in Glasgow I will make a group up for them and will sort orders and prices once I receive them.”

Julie later revealed after popular demand her gran has already started stitching together one of Still Games newest characters, Methadone Mick.

And other keen customers have started sending over their own requests including Celtic footballers Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembélé.
