SCOTLAND starlet Oliver McBurnie has landed a new one-year deal at Swansea City.
The 20-year-old, who has been capped six times at under-21 level, has already scored twice in two senior appearances for the Swans after joining the English Premier League outfit from Bradford City in 2015.
He celebrated inking a new contract by finding the net for the Swans’ under-23 side on Tuesday evening as they cruised to a 2-0 win over Derek Adams’ Plymouth Argyle side in the Checkatrade Trophy.
Former Newport County and Bristol Rovers loan star McBurnie told Swansea’s official website: “A new contract shows faith in me.
“From here I just want to crack on and keep working hard to get more opportunities on the pitch with the first-team.
“If the next 16 months goes as well as the first has, I will be happy. Going on loan last year only continued to help me develop.
“I feel I have had a good start to this season but I want to keep building on it. I still have plenty to deliver and the more chances I get, the more I will be able to prove myself.”
