LIVINGSTON defender Alan Lithgow has been hit with a one-match ban by the SFA for playing against Crusaders while ineligible.
The 28-year-old started the 2-1 victory over the Northern Irish side in Belfast on October 7 despite the fact he was due to be serving the second of his two-game suspension following a dismissal against East Fife.
The SPFL found the League 1 side in breach of the IRN-BRU Cup guidelines, fining them £4,000 and ordering the Lions to replay the fixture at Seaview.
However, the case was referred to a Judicial Panel hearing at Hampden yesterday and the SFA “reapplied” the ban, meaning he will finally serve the second match of his original suspension tomorrow when Livi face East Fife.
