Falkirk striker Lee Miller has told Dundee United supporters that they will be doing him a favour if they boo him today.

The 33-year-old is bracing himself for a hostile welcome when he returns to his former club with the Bairns.

By his own admission, Miller did not enjoy his most productive spell in front of goal during the 2005/06 campaign that he spent at Tannadice but the experienced marksman insists he will thrive on any stick he gets from the home fans.

Miller is not the only one with a United connection, with David McCracken, Mark Kerr and John Rankin having played for the Tayside outfit, while Bairns manager Peter Houston masterminded United’s 2010 Scottish Cup triumph.

The marksman, however, is looking forward to returning to his old stomping ground.

He said: “There’s a few of us that have played for United before and I’m sure there will be a few boos, as usual, but I enjoy that.

“I used to get it everywhere I went and I thrive off that. But it’s not about me, it’s about the team.

“I’m sure a few of them will get a good reception but we’re up there to do a job and get the three points.

“I didn’t have a great spell up there in terms of goals, it will be good to go back and see some old faces.

“United are starting to play to their potential and it should be a cracker. We’re looking forward to it, it’s a good place to go and it’s a good crowd.

“They’ve got everything in place to be in the Premiership as well, just coming down. Everything is there for us to play for, Hibs, Raith and Queen of the South will be saying the same thing.”
