Hibs assistant manager Garry Parker insists the greatest threat to their Championship title bid is themselves.
The Leith outfit returned to the league summit last weekend after collecting their first win in six matches in a 3-1 victory at Dunfermline.
Neil Lennon’s side won their first five matches in the league before hitting a sticky patch, which coincided with having three players sent off in three separate outings.
He said: “The thing is, it’s all about us. The only team really that I think can beat us is ourselves.
“At times we outplay teams, we need finish teams off and scores goals. We create enough chances, and we’ll just take it from there.
“That’s our priority, we must get promoted no matter what.
“The Dunfermline win helps and and it gives all the players a good lift. It also helped the previous week when we went down to ten men against Raith Rovers, I thought we controlled the game with ten men. It’s carried on and I hope it continues.
“Some team will get a good hiding soon but we were happy after the Dunfermline win.
“It’s a hard place to go, we won the game 3-1 and other teams lost. We have to keep going and stay at the top.”
Parker hopes on loan Birmingham City attacking midfielder Andrew Shinnie can build on his eye catching performance at East End Park after being dropped for the goal-less draw at Raith.
Parker, speaking to Hibs TV, added: “We felt the last game he played against St Mirren in the cup he was very poor, he knew that himself – he held his hands up.
“The more he tried in that game the worse it got.
“We left him out the following week but he trained well in the build up to the Dunfermline game and we had a good chat with him and he’s performed, he did exactly what we asked of him.
“He is a good footballer, you don’t lose that ability, it’s just a bit of confidence.”
