Defender Jordan McMillan is back training at former club Dunfermline with his 23-month drug ban about to expire.
The former Rangers trainee spent just over a year at the Fife outfit and even captained the side before being made redundant when the Pars plunged into administration in March 2013.
The 28-year-old is looking to rebuild his career after being handed a two-year ban from competitive sport after traces of cocaine were found in a sample following Patrick Thistle’s match at Celtic in December 2014.
The player is now allowed to return to competitive action on November 17.
McMillan’s appeal against the initial ban was dismissed even though he claimed that the drug had been consumed unknowingly after his drink had been spiked.
Dunfermline manager Allan Johnston confirmed that McMillan has been granted training facilities at the Championship club.
He said: “He’s just training, he obviously knows a lot of he boys from being here before.
“I think he knew a lot of the other boys anyway.
“We’ve got a big squad just now, he’s in training just now and that’s as far as it goes.”
Speaking in August after his ban was reduced, McMillan, who moved to the Jags from Dunfermline, said: “Now I just want to get back to playing football. I’m pleased the ban was reduced.”
