Scottish trials cyclist Danny MacAskill has released a new video, which shows him exploring the rural landscape around Edinburgh.
MacAskill, originally from the Isle of Skye, became one of the biggest YouTube stars in the world after releasing a street trials video, filmed by his flatmate, in 2009.
In his latest video, MacAskill’s switches the street for the fields, and completes tricks including using a bale of hay as a unicycle and riding into a 6 foot puddle.
The video is starkly different from recent videos, including his ride along the dangerous Cuillin Ridge, which has been viewed more than 41 million times on YouTube.
MacAskill explained that the aim behind the video, entitled ‘Wee Day Out’, was to allow him to be more creative with his riding.

He said: “Rather than keep pushing and progressing my riding, the first thing I think about these days is a concept for the film that allows me to have a bit more creative freedom with my riding.
“I set out to make a video that hopefully relates to the normal rider. It’s meant to be a fun day out on the bike, taking in different obstacles along the way.
“On my mountain bike I’m usually riding more in the winter and I’m often riding with friends in a group.
“You can’t really beat the feeling of riding down a muddy, sliding trail and everyone getting to the bottom with some kind of near-death experience. Even if it’s pouring with rain it’s a lot of fun.
