Hearts owner Ann Budge admits the club already have over half the funding in place for the proposed new £12 million main stand at Tynecastle.
The Gorgie outfit hope to get the go-ahead from the City of Edinburgh Council on October 12 to start work on the state-of-the-art 7,000-capacity enclosure.
Budge has vowed to ensure that the club club does not incur any debt as part of the redevelopment and revealed in an update to supporters that they are making progress in securing enough capital for the project.
Owners-in-waiting the Foundation of Hearts have already agreed to direct £3 million of supporters’ cash to the club for the new main stand.
Budge said: “I am delighted to report that we are making great progress on funding. With well over half the funds already raised and with the Foundation of Hearts voting overwhelmingly to back the programme, we are well on track to realising our dream.
“We remain cautiously optimistic that our plans for the new stand will soon be approved; we have a key meeting on the 12th October with planners and I hope to be making some significant announcements shortly thereafter.”
