BARRY BANNAN insists Steven Fletcher is the complete package as the Scotland duo impress in the SkyBet Championship.
Fletcher, 29, has enjoyed a purple patch in September, bagging three goals – including one against Malta on international duty – and emerging as a key figure in Carlos Carvahal’s Sheffield Wednesday side.
As well as proving a constant goal threat, the former Hibs star claimed an audacious assist at the weekend when his classy back-heel set up Gary Hooper to find the net against Birmingham City.
And Bannan, a fans’ favourite at Hillsborough himself after excelling last season, reckons Fletcher has already become indispensable for the promotion hopefuls.
“Fletcher is just brilliant,” the diminutive playmaker told Wednesday’s website. “His all-round game as a striker is brilliant.
“He can do everything, he’s good in the air, he’s strong, he can bring other people into play and he works hard. That is something you must have in this team.
“I don’t want to put any pressure on him but he’s a top striker and a big player for our team.”
