WILLIE Collum will go from the white-hot atmosphere of Saturday’s Old Firm encounter to conflict-hit Ukraine after being handed a plum Champions League tie between Dynamo Kiev and Napoli.
The often-criticised 37-year-old was praised for the way he handled Saturday’s powder-keg clash, during which he booked and then sent-off Rangers debutant Philippe Senderos and dished out another six yellow cards to players on both sides.
However, the Euro 2016 referee has no time to bask in an accomplished performance as he moves on to his next major test.
The Scots whistler will take charge of the Group B opener between Dynamo and Napoli in the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, where he will be assisted by Douglas Ross, Alastair Mather, Stuart Stevenson, John Beaton and Kevin Clancy.
