HILARIOUS footage has emerged of a male Scotland fan dancing in front of fellow supporters – in nothing but ladies underwear.
The shuffling supporter fan was captured gyrating in front of the packed stand during the build-up to Scotland’s first World Cup Qualifier in Malta last weekend.
Scantily-clad, in just a gold bra and pants, the bald man performs a jig for the travelling Tartan Army, encouraging them to increase the volume and sing louder.
As his compatriots get their phones out to film the unusual pre-match routine he turns to give them and slaps his own backside to loud laughter and applause.
The 28-second clip was uploaded to a popular fan site dedicated to Scotland’s away fans and has already amassed 60,000 views and over 1,000 likes and comments.
The footage appears to have been filmed just prior to kick-off at the Ta’ Qali National Stadium in Malta on Sunday evening.
The video starts with the Scotland fans cheering and clapping as the man in the ladies underwear gestures towards them in the baking Maltese heat.
With a beaming smile, he then shuffles a little closer towards the crowd and performs a little jig as loud laughter can be heard from his fellow fans.
He then gestures for the Scottish support to make more noise by waving his arms and pointing to them as they sing.
As the crowd appear to be losing interest, the unusual mascot turns and bends over to reveal the other side of his golden thong before repeatedly slapping his own backside.
This provokes a loud cheer from the Tartan Army, as one fan dressed in Scotland’s pink away top passes him and gives him a high five.
Cackles from the fans can be heard as the footage ends and one man can be heard saying: “I’ve got this on video.”
Reaction to the video from fellow Facebook users provided a mixed bag, with some praising the man for clearly enjoying himself, whilst others felt his rowdy behaviour went too far.
Stuart Tinney commented: “You’d be raging if you had young kids at that! What a creep. Not funny in the slightest.”
Dale Kirk wrote: “The real stain on the reputation of Scottish football fans.”
And Mark Simms said: “Ashamed to be Scottish.”
However, others weren’t quite so scathing with their reaction and thought some fans needed to “lighten up”.
Bobby Wotherspoon wrote: “He’s a legend been going to Scotland games for years.”
And Ross Morton commented: “Folk need to lighten up. The guys having a laugh and not hurting anyone!”
The dancing fan will have been even more delighted when the final whistle blew, as Scotland got their qualifying campaign off to the perfect start by beating Malta 5-1.
Gordon Strachan’s men are looking to qualify for their first major tournament since 1998 and are competing against the likes of England and Slovakia in Group F.
