Celtic will have their disciplinary record wiped clean if they reach the Champions League group stages.
Some nine players have been booked in their opening five qualifying matches so far: Scott Brown, Leigh Griffiths, Scott Sinclair, James Forrest, Nir Bitton, Kolo Toure, Stefan Johansen, Eoghan O’Connel and Efe Ambrose.
But UEFA rule 49.04 states that ‘all yellow cards and pending yellow card suspensions expire on completion of the play-offs. They are not carried forward to the group stage’.
Should Celtic see of Hapoel Be’er Sheva tonight, the only way a player would be suspended for the first game of the group stage is if he is red carded during the second leg in Israel.
