SIR Chris Hoy has sensationally returned to two wheels – but in a car.
The Olympic hero has posted a video on social media of himself driving a car over 300 yards down a disused runway on only two wheels.
Since retiring, the six-time Olympic cycling champion has swapped the velodrome for the race track and recently competed in the famous Le Mans 24-hour endurance race.
He’s now taken his love of motorsport one step further by driving a Nissan Juke on its side along a sun-soaked track and described the experience as “amazing”.
The 40-year-old said he would have gone further and only came down onto all four wheels again because of a “funny sound” that made him think the tyres were about to “pop”.
Hoy shared the video with his 708,000 Twitter followers this afternoon with the caption: “The unedited clip of my two-wheeled run in the @Nissan juke. Thanks to the legend @TerryGrant_1 for the coaching!”
The minute-long clip starts with the driving along the deserted track and onto a ramp, which enables him to get the vehicle up on two wheels.
He then somehow manages to drive along using only the left two wheels for the next 40 seconds as someone else films him from a car alongside.
His car eventually topples back into a normal position to loud cheers from the person filming as Sir Chris leans towards his passenger window to say: “That was ace”.
As he leans out from his window afterwards, still with his safety helmet and sunglasses on, the cycling champion says: “That was amazing.
“I only came down because it started to make a funny noise. I thought the tyres were going to go pop.”
His followers were quick to respond to his daredevil stunt.

And @Lorrainespage referred to his change of sport by saying: “you missing your 4 wheeled racing Chris?”
Sir Chris has been over in Brazil to cover the Olympic Games in Rio De Janiero where his former Team GB cycling teammates have excelled on the track.
Last night, Jason Kenny equalled his record six gold medals to join Hoy as one of the country’s greatest ever Olympians.
