Conrad Logan insists he will never forget his fairytale debut for Hibs

Former Hibs favourite Conrad Logan insists he will never forget his fairytale debut for the club at Hampden.

The Irishman became an instant hero among the fans in April after saving two penalties and producing a man of the match display in the dramatic Scottish Cup semi-final shoot-win win over Dundee United.

Former Leicester City shot-stopper Logan’s performance was all the more impressive given that it was his first in 16 months after being sidelined with an Achilles injury.

Logan has re-signed for Rochdale after being freed by new Hibs head coach Neil Lennon but he insists he leaves with happy memories.

He said: “It was a fairy tale that day. It couldn’t have gone any better for a debut at a club.

“And after being out for so long, it made all the hard work over the 16 months worth it, especially to come back on such a big stage at Hampden Park and get through to a final.

“It happened quickly, and maybe quicker than I anticipated at the time, because I had only really been back training for a few days when I got the phone call to go up there and I was thrown in at the deep end.

“It worked out brilliantly during the couple of months that I was up there and I really enjoyed my time at Hibs.”
