Arthur’s Seat “not pointy enough” complains Oz visitor

ARTHUR’S SEAT has been criticised for not being “pointy enough” or having “enough rainbows” in a bizarre online review by a tourist.

The ancient volcano which dominates Edinburgh is widely considered a dramatic “must-visit” on most visitors’ itineraries.

The 251m (823ft) hill has a TripAdvisor certificate of excellence but that did nothing to charm one Australian visitor.

The visitor, named ‘Lauren K’ from Sydney, gave the centuries old landmark just two stars and titled her review ‘not enough rainbows’.

The woman from Down Under was underwhelmed to say the least

She wrote: “Scotland is renowned for its horrible weather – it didn’t disappoint.

“The paths were muddy and full of stupid tourists. Could only see the castle from the top.

“They haven’t installed the gondola yet and it was tall but not pointy enough for my liking – not enough rainbows. Disappointed.”

Another reviewer, writing in January, was similarly disappointed by the best efforts of nature.

Aidashh, from Liverpool, also gave the hill two stars, writing: “Signposting for the escalators was nowhere to be found. No cafe at the top. Too windy. All-in-all, not a fantastic day.”

Overall, Arthur’s Seat enjoys an average TripAdvisor rating of 4.5/5, something most UK landmarks would be proud of.

It has a total of 10,245 reviews left on TripAdvisor – 8,443 of which are listed as ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’.

It’s not the first time that an Edinburgh attraction has received some bizarre feedback.

In June this year, one disgruntled tourist gave Edinburgh Castle just one star after complaining that the 11th century fortress was “really old” and should be demolished so that a “better” attraction could be put in its place.

Two years ago, someone was angry when they discovered there was actually no seat at the top of Arthur’s Seat.

Whilst another person complained that the ancient hill had no wifi or coffee shop when you reached the peak.
