Scotland striker Steven Fletcher has joined Sheffield Wednesday on a four-year deal and could be joined by international team-mate Ross McCormack at Hillsborough.
Former Hibs marksman Fletcher, who was linked with a move to Celtic, has made the switch to the Owls after being released by Sunderland at the end of last season.
And the 29-year-old could spearhead an all-Scottish attack at the Owls after Wednesday reportedly made a club record £11.5 million offer for Fulham marksman McCormack.
The 29-year-old only managed to net 23 goals in a total of four years with Sunderland after joining in a £12 million move with from Wolves.
Fletcher will link up with fellow countrymen Barry Bannan and Ross Wallace at Hillsborough.
Bannan tweeted: “Buzzing to see Fletch has signed for us, great guy and top player.”
Scotland forward McCormack has scored a total of 42 goals for Fulham in the last two seasons and Owls manager Carlos Carvalhal wants to assemble an attack that can lead the club back to the top-flight following May’s agonising play-off final defeat to Hull.
Speaking to Sheffield Live about McCormack, former Wednesday player Craig Armstrong said: “They have offered £11.5 million for (McCormack), whether that goes ahead I don’t know.
“(He’s been offered) big wages as well.
“Imagine McCormack comes into a team like Sheffield Wednesday, who do create opportunities, who do create chances. He’s going to be in a better team. He could be the catalyst you need.”
