A POLICEMAN was taken to hospital after his car hit a Mini, ploughed through a tree and crashed into a wall.
The incident happened this morning (Tues) when the police car was responding to a 999 call with its blue lights and sirens on.
On the way to the call-out, it collided with another car, went onto the pavement and crashed through and tree into a wall.
Pictures taken at the scene on Ashgrove Road in Aberdeen show a tall tree knocked over and the car’s bumper smashed up.
Nobody was seriously hurt in the incident, but the policeman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with minor injuries.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “A police vehicle responding to an incident was involved in a two vehicle collision on Ashgrove Road at the junction with Powis Terrace in Aberdeen shortly before 10am today.
“The police were attending a 999 incident with blue lights on but there was no pursuit.
“There was no serious injuries however a police officer was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to be treated for minor injuries.”
The police car was removed from the scene shortly before midday.
