Nicky Campbell turns up to work in just a kilt after losing bet

A SCOTS radio presenter was forced to turn up to work wearing just a kilt – after wrongly betting on the outcome of the England match.

Nicky Campbell, who presents BBC Radio 5 Live, was so convinced England would beat Iceland in the Euros that he put on a rather risky bet.

He said that if England lost, he would present the breakfast show “in a kilt and nothing else”.

And after England’s humiliating 2-1 defeat, he stuck to his word and turned up to work in nothing but the traditional tartan skirt.

Shortly after England’s loss, he tweeted: “I said that if England lose I will present the breakfast show in a kilt and nothing else. This will sadly happen when I am back in Salford.”

And this morning (Tues) he once again took to social media to prove he is a man of his word.

He shared a photograph taken at the BBC offices in Greater Manchester showing him naked from the waist up, donning a tartan kilt and his work pass around his neck.

He captioned the snap “I’m very sorry” – which merited a host of witty responses from his colleagues and fans alike.

Fellow producer Nick Smith said: “Good lord. Thank god I’m not on shift.”

Follower Andy Shute wrote: “The perfect face, body and looks for radio Nicky.”

Ex 5Live journalist Steve Bland added: “All of a sudden I’m missing the BBC 5 Live office a bit less.”

England’s embarrassing defeat last night resulted in manager Roy Hodgson’s immediate resignation and fury from fans who condemned England’s performance.

Playing a country with a population of just 320,000, many expected the England side to cruise through the game into a quarter-final clash against France.

Gary Lineker labelled the outcome as “the worst defeat in our history”
