Morton have signed former Hearts starlet Gary Oliver on a two-year deal following his Queen of the South exit.
The 20-year-old scored six goals in 32 appearances last term, including a strike against Rangers in the Doonhamers’ thrilling 4-3 defeat at Ibrox in March.
However, the majority of the youngster’s outings came from the bench as he struggled to dislodge first-choice strikers Derek Lyle and Iain Russell – and he has made the switch to Cappielow in search of a regular starting berth.
Despite registering a laudable fifth place last term, Jim Duffy’s scored just 39 goals in 36 league games and the Morton boss has made boosting the club’s firepower a priority this summer.
Prior to his move to Palmerston Park last summer, Oliver emerged through the academy system at Hearts and played 25 times for the Jambos, scoring two goals.
