SPFL league sponsors Ladbrokes have suspended betting on Neil Lennon becoming the next Hibs manager amid rumours the Northern Irishman met with Easter Road CEO Leeann Dempster on Thursday.
A flurry of bets on ex-Celtic boss Lennon succeeding Alan Stubbs, who was unveiled as the new Rotherham manager on Wednesday, saw the odds tumble from 14/1 to 1/4.
Rumours swept through the capital that Lennon has been interviewed for the post by Dempster.
Scotland Under-17s coach Scot Gemmill, ex-Hibs and Inverness boss John Hughes and Scotland coach Stuart McCall have also been linked with the vacancy.
David Macdonald of Ladbrokes said: “The early money had been for John Hughes but in next to no time there’s been a flurry of support for Neil Lennon.
“He’s been supported at all prices down from 14/1 so we’ve decided to take a breather and wait for this one to settle down.”
