Managerless Queen of the South have handed a new one-year contract to defensive stalwart Andy Dowie.
Dowie, 33, has made 109 appearances since joining Queens from Partick Thistle in 2013.
The former Dunfermline, Ross County and Rangers man’s deal was set to expire at the end of this month but he has signed on for another season in Dumfries.
Dowie becomes the 10th player to commit his future to the Palmerston Park outfit, following Jim Atkinson, Robbie Thomson, Chris Higgins, Jordan Marshall, Jake Pickard, Callum Tapping, Mark Millar, Derek Lyle and Dale Hilson.
Queens, who are currently helmed by Gavin Skelton, have been searching for a new boss since James Fowler’s departure last month.
