Alloa Athletic boss Jack Ross has signed a new contract with the Championship outfit ahead of their trip to face Rangers this weekend.
The 39-year-old was handed his first job in management in December, taking over from Danny Lennon with the part-timers rooted to the foot of the table.
However, he also earned a 1-1 draw against league champions Rangers and saw his side turn in several heartening displays.
And Wasps chairman Mike Mulraney is adamant Ross is the right man to mount a League 1 title challenge next term, handing the former St Mirren and Falkirk defender a deal until the end of next season.
Mulraney told Alloa’s official website: “The club always wanted Jack to stay and build on the good foundations he has already started to build at the club.
“Next season will be another huge challenge, to look to return the club back to challenging at the right end of the league and looking to regain promotion back to the Championship as soon as possible.”
