Ramsay set to cook for young superfan with food allergy

GORDON Ramsay is helping out a young fan who wrote a heart-wrenching letter about her food allergy – and asked him to cook for her.

Abigail Carper, eight, has to eat through a feeding tube but dreams of becoming a chef when she grows up.

The girl from Indiana wrote an emotional letter to Ramsay asking him to rustle something up because her “mom is just an OK cook”.

After Ramsay watched a video of Abigal reading her letter to him he got straight in touch via Twitter asking her mum to get in touch.

In her letter, Abigail, who suffers from a gastrointestinal (GI) condition, wrote:: “Dear Mr Gordon Ramsay. My name is Abby. I’m 8-years-old and I’m a huge fan.

“I watch your shows all the time. Sometimes I have to watch them in hospital. I can’t eat the food you make on MasterChef Junior, but I love to watch.

“I have a rare GI disease that makes me really sick when I eat so I have a feeding tube.

“I can eat few foods but not a lot.”

She continues: “When I grow up I want to be a chef just like you. Do you think you could cook some food or make new recipes on MasterChef Junior for me using only ingredients I can eat?

“My mum tries but she’s just an OK cook. I know you could make me something really good.

“Love your biggest fan, Abigail Carper.”

In her letter she says it is her “dream” to become a chef

The video was shared by Abigail’s mum, Amber Lacie, in the hope that Ramsay would see it and respond.

After just 48 hours they hit the jackpot.

The Scots chef, renowned for his colourful language and fiery temper, showed his softer side, writing on Twitter: “Hey gorgeous Abigail. Thanks for your kind letter.

“Ask Mummy to direct message please. Take care, Chef Ramsay xxx.”

Abigail’s mum could not contain her delight at the result.

She wrote: “I will definitely direct message you. I cannot wait to show her this in the AM. She’s going to be ecstatic. Thank you.”

She added: “Abby is going to scream with happiness. I’m so happy for her.”

The video, and Ramsay’s reaction, also touched the hearts of the top chef’s followers.

Hailie Mathers said: “Brought a tear to my eye. You’re such a caring bloke.”

Another fan wrote: “You’re a fantastic person. I hope this girl feels much better and her dreams come true.”
