Buoyant Raith Rovers have been handed a further double-boost after key duo Scott Robertson and Iain Davidson penned contract extensions at Stark’s Park.
Former Hibs and Dundee United star Robertson joined the Kirkcaldy club in October following an ill-fated spell in Romania with FC Botosani and has gone on to make 19 appearances this term.
A groin complaint has seen the 30-year-old miss Rovers’ last seven matches, however boss Ray McKinnon has made no secret of his desire to keep the combative midfielder at the club.
And McKinnon got his wish as Robertson penned a new one-year contract with the club.
Meanwhile, stalwart Davidson, 32, who is a member of the Raith Hall of Fame with more than 300 appearances over two spells at the club, has signed on for another two years.
It is yet more good news for Rovers, who are emerging as dark horses of the promotion race, with just a point needed on Saturday against Queen of the South to secure their top-four berth.
The Fifers are in the midst of a seven-match unbeaten run, including a win over Hibs and a dramatic draw against Rangers on Saturday, while manager Ray McKinnon was named Championship manager of the month for March this week.
