Falkirk midfielder Will Vaulks admits next month’s trip to Hibs has now become ‘massive’ in the race for second after Bairns slipped up.
Peter Houston’s side wasted the chance to move nine points clear of their Leith counterparts in second after falling to a 2-1 defeat at home to Livingston on Saturday.
Hibs can capitalise with their three games in hand but Vaulks admits the Bairns will target maximum points at Easter Road on April 12.
“We weren’t going to go there and sit back and play for a draw. That’s not our style. That game was always going to be important but now it’s massive.
“The pressure has always been on Hibs. It’s getting to the closing stages now and maybe people will look at us a bit more.
“But it’s up to Hibs to finish where they should finish for a club that size. If we can challenge right to the end we will be happy.
“This was a massive opportunity lost. It was a chance to go nine ahead and that’s a lot.
“They’d have had to win all three and they’ve got games crammed into a short time coming up.
“It’s a big opportunity lost and that’s why the defeat hurts even more.”
