Hearts winger Dario Zanatta is enjoying a week to remember after being called up to the Canada Under-20s squad just days after signing a new three-year deal at the club.
The 18-year-old has been selected by Under-20 national team coach Rob Gale for the March 27 friendly against England in Doncaster.
Former Vancouver Whitecaps playmaker Zanatta, who has made ten appearances this season, was handed a new long-term deal last Friday after forcing his way into head coach Robbie Neilson’s plans.
Zanatta is the latest player at the club to receive international recognition after Sam Nicholson, John Souttar, Liam Smith, Jordan McGhee, Jack Hamilton and Billy King, who is currently on loan at Rangers, were all called into the Scotland Under-21 side.
Canada youth coach Gale said: “This is an additional opportunity to bring together our exceptional young players.
“We selected players from a range of different ages so that we could benefit this group with a key development opportunity through a high-level opposition.”
