Swansea left-back Stephen Kingsley has been called into the Scotland Under-21 squad after Sheffield United defender Callum Mcfadzean underwent an operation on his scrotum.
Less than a fortnight after making a memorable English Premier League debut for the Swans in their 2-1 win at Arsenal, former Falkirk youngster Kingsley will link up with Ricky Sbragia’s team for this month’s Euro qualifying clashes with France and Northern Ireland.
Kingsley takes the place of the unfortunate Mcfadzean, who went under the surgeon’s knife on Friday to have an unusual injury mended.
Mcfadzean, who spent time on loan at Stevenage earlier this season, revealed on Twitter that he took a stud to his private parts.
Posted alongside a picture of himself on a hospital bed, Mcfadzean said: “Op went well!! Ball sack back in 1 piece thank god!
“Gutted won’t be able to go away for call up with Scotland!”
