Queen of the South midfielder Mark Millar not fazed by daunting run of games

Queen of the South midfielder Mark Millar insists the Doonhamers will embrace their daunting run of games.

James Fowler’s side will bid to exact revenge on St Mirren today following last weekend’s defeat in Paisley before taking on the Championship’s top three – Rangers, Falkirk and Hibs.

The forthcoming matches could have a huge bearing on the Dumfries outfit’s play-off hopes, with Queens currently being kept out of the top four on goal difference, but Millar insists he is looking forward to the challenge.

He said: “It a big period coming up but it was the same last year when everyone expected Falkirk to go and put pressure on Hibs and Rangers, but in the end we were the team that finished fourth.

“Last April, we had Hibs, Rangers and Falkirk one after the other and managed to take nine points from those games.

“I’ll look forward to these games and I’m sure all the boys will. It’s the old cliche about taking each game as it comes, but I’m looking forward to it.”

Millar admits he is still scratching his head over how they managed to lose to Stevie Mallan’s solitary strike last week.

He added: “We created enough chances to win two games on Saturday but it just wasn’t to be.

“We need to start putting things right and picking up results. We’re not hitting the heights that we did last year but we’re still up there so we’ve got to keep going.

“It comes from hard work, we’re working hard during the week in training and hopefully we can start hitting those highs.”
