Hibs and Hearts fans face a scramble to get their hands on a ticket for the Scottish Cup replay after it was confirmed that next Tuesday’s clash at Easter Road will not be televised.

Briefs for the tie go on sale to both sets of supporters from this morning after Sunday’s match between the fierce Edinburgh rivals finished 2-2.

The derby will not be broadcast live due to a UEFA ruling that stipulates that matches cannot be screened at the same time as Champions League clashes.

Benfica’s last 16 visit of Zenit and Chelsea’s trip to PSG will also take place on the same night.

That means that the only way of seeing the game is by securing a ticket for the 20,421 capacity Easter Road.

Confirming the television blackout, a Hearts spokesperson said: “Fans should note that due to UEFA broadcasting rules, this tie will not be televised live.”

Hibs will make seats available to season tickets holders from 10am this morning until Friday at the same time. A general sale will take place thereafter.

Hearts have been handed an allocation of nearly 4,000 for the match and fans with 95 loyalty points or more can purchase tickets from 10am this morning until 5pm on Thursday.

Hearts insist they ‘will review the number of tickets available at the close of play on Thursday and make a further announcement’.

Tickets for both sets of fans are priced £28 for adults and £14 for concessions.
