Steven Pressley admits he is dreaming of guiding Fleetwood Town to Wembley this evening.
The Cod Army take on Barnsley tonight for a place in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final, with the tie evenly poised at 1-1 from the first leg.
Oxford are awaiting the winners and the former Hearts and Celtic defender admits he is desperate to make sure his team do not waste a rare chance to run out at the 90,000 capacity arena.
Pressley said: “I want to be waking on Friday with the prospect of going to Wembley in April.
“I don’t want to be turning on Sky in April and watching the cup final with ourselves not involved, thinking: ‘if only’.
“We have a real opportunity in front of our home supporters to win a game of football and if we do that we go to Wembley. “We cannot let ourselves down.
“There will be no excuses if we don’t win, we have to win the game.”
